Lisa Van Hove
Biography
Lisa Van Hove is a PhD student and mandate assistant at the department of Lifespan Psychology, Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Her research interests lie in the field of mental wellbeing of older adults, and more specifically regarding non-suicidal self-injury, self-harming behaviors and suicidality. She currently also works as research assistant for the International Consortium of Self-injury In Educational Settings (ICSES) and clinical psychologist for De Hartenboom.
As part of her PhD, Lisa wishes to develop a preventive strategy or intervention, which is partially aimed at promoting the (self-)compassion of older adults who engage in self-harm, that can be reached out to older adults via communities of shared interest.
